Publication of Results for HC and L2HGA

The uptake for DNA tests throughout last year has been good and most show people do have both tests done at the same time. There are now about 20 pages of results for each condition on the KC website. Not all do of course but then it’s for breeders to make choices. For the sake of a one off life time fee for each test, it’s a bit short sighted, no pun intended, not to test.

At the time of writing some dogs that have had both tests done have only had results for one published, which is due to earlier forms not having consent for publication check boxes. Personally I think that the KC could be proactive here and send out requests for publication to those owners concerned and that suggestion has been put forward. However that is unlikely to happen, certainly not in the near future, but any owner who has a dog or bitch that has not had results published can write to the KC off their own back and give permission for publication of test results. If nothing else this will provide a record for all to see.

As mentioned in previous communications, the Animal Health Trust are asking for blood samples from those dogs affected with PHPV, and if possible their siblings, parents and grandparents. Details for sample requirements can be found here.
